In celebration of Giving Day 2023, on February 23rd we are celebrating the many ways that we Show Our Love for Maclay and are thrilled to introduce this year’s Maclay Sweethearts. These wonderful, heartfelt, and longstanding connections are part of what makes Maclay’s campus and our time together on it so special. What do you love most about Maclay?
This is where we met. Maclay is our home away from home. We feel lucky to be able to come to school every day and share our passions with our students. We love watching them grow and seeing them shine beyond the classroom whether it be onstage or on the field.
What is your favorite part about having your sweetheart on campus with you?
Just knowing that the other is close by and being able to relate to everything going on in each other’s lives. Sharing the many wonderful and fun memories about all our students, past and present.
What is your favorite memory with your sweetheart at Maclay?
Chaperoning the Sophomore Safari together at Camp Carolina. (and Dean with his one outfit), building sets together for various productions over the years.
We used to have lunch together every day in the dining hall, sitting and chatting with Rob Webster. We would have a competition to see which one of us could build the biggest salad… Rob always won.
Do you have a favorite event/tradition/holiday that you enjoy celebrating at Maclay with your sweetheart?
