Building Excellence in our Classrooms and Campus
Maclay School’s 100-acre campus is comprised of many academic buildings, outdoor spaces, athletic facilities, and performance spaces. As the school’s educational and extracurricular needs are ever changing, the generous support of our community members has provided funding for needed updates to existing facilities and has allowed for the addition of new facilities to campus.
Beck Family Innovation Center
The Beck Family Innovation Center provides cutting-edge space for students to learn and test the 21st Century Skills developed across all grade levels at Maclay School. The design for the facility was born from the need to respond to the growing ambition of both Maclay’s students and faculty as programs and curriculum have outgrown current facilities. This Beck Family Innovation Center will provides faculty and students the spaces they need to be flexible, nimble, and apply concepts and skills necessary to prepare for tomorrow’s world.
The Beck Family Innovation Center opened for student use in September of 2020. For more information on the iTHINK initiative campaign or this facility overall, please contact Morgan Lewis in the Advancement Office at (850)893-8465.
Upper School STEM Center
The Upper School STEM Center houses laboratory space for the Core Sciences, outfitted with the most current technology. Each lab will offer integrated space for both lecture and lab instruction.
This multi-function event and lecture space will provide an area for students to gather, collaborate, and exhibit the outcomes of their work and projects. The Student Commons also will connect to the new School Store which will act as the lab for Upper School Entrepreneurship Concentration and will serve as a café for grab and go items and coffee.
The College Counseling program at Maclay School is central to the School's mission and provides each student and family with information, support, and guidance as they navigate the transition to college.
Upper School Offices
The Center includes a reception area and offices for the Head of Upper School and Upper School Administration.

The sustainable and architecturally innovative design houses three hands-on iTHINK labs where students can test and apply skills, conduct research, and explore interdisciplinary connections between the Sciences, the Arts and the STEM fields. This innovative design features three research labs, a common courtyard, and garden areas for gathering. The Beck Family Research Center includes three iTHINK Labs: Computer Science, Robotics, and Engineering; Art, Inspiration, and Design; and the Marie E. Krafft Lab for Biomedical Research.
Dining Hall Renovation
The Dining Hall Renovation expanded the footprint and functionality of this essential, high traffic space on campus. The Dining Hall welcomes each Maclay student daily and provides and important environment for connection and community as meals are shared together here. Through the generosity of our community of donors, this project provided expanded performance space for the many events and gatherings held in the Dining Hall each school year, expanded the food service area and seating capacity, added an intimate meeting space and dining area within the Dining Hall, and enclosed the outdoor area in the original footprint of the building to create La Petite Café – a dynamic and inviting are for students to gather for meals, studying, and discussion.
Frank Shaw Field Lights
Frank Shaw Field is the School’s main athletic field and welcomes 13 sports teams for competitions and practices throughout the course of each school year. The newly installed LED lights at this field not only facilitate an enhanced and safer athlete and spectator experience, they are more energy efficient and provide optimum lighting and viewing capacity for this often-used facility.
Weight Room Renovations
The weightroom at the Peipers Field House was renovated with new benches, weights, paint, and strength training equipment for all the Marauder Sports Teams.
