Guidelines for Service Learning
Maclay encourages and supports philanthropic projects at all grade levels through a wide variety of charitable efforts. To ensure that projects are executed in a manner consistent with the philosophy and fundraising policies, projects that include asking Maclay students, parents, alumni, faculty, and staff for contributions must be approved by the Director of Service Learning. It is our goal to prevent undue solicitation of our community and that drives and fundraisers are scheduled equitably throughout the school year. The criteria for a service project at Maclay is the following:
- The project or event must be conducted by a group (not individual) of Maclay students such as clubs, grade levels, classes, student government, sports teams, art groups, etc.
- Projects must have a faculty sponsor
- All drives that involved fundraiser or money must also be approved by the Advancement Director.
