Early bird care is available for our younger students Monday-Friday from 7am until 7:45am in the Dining Hall for Pre-K and Lower School students. For pricing and registration visit www.maclay.org/earlybird
The Middle School Center is open every day after school for 6-8th graders. Students should report to the Langford Library directly after school. There is no charge for the Center which is available until 6pm Monday-Friday.
For musicians only just beginning, students will be taught the basis for future success on their chosen instrument: violin, viola, cello or bass. They will learn how to properly hold and care for their instrument, to make a beautiful sound, to hear and strive for the very best intonation and rhythm, to read music and to rehearse and perform.
For more experienced strings musicians, we will take their skills to the next level. Advanced left-hand and right-hand skills will be studied such as vibrato, spiccato, and shifting. Students are challenged by more complicated ensemble repertoire from a wide range of genres from Classical, pop, jazz and blue grass to name a few.
Strings classes will be held during the school day-at the same time as Music. Students who participate in Strings class will not attend music class. Please use the link below to sign-up for this year’s Strings class by Monday, August 10th, 2020. If you have any questions about the program, please contact our Strings teacher, Aaron Seiler firstname.lastname@example.org.
