Softball at Maclay

In 1986, the softball program advanced to the State tournament for the second consecutive year. After falling in the semifinals the year prior, the Lady Marauders went on to win the State Championship game against Lake Butler in what has since be known as one of the greatest runs in Maclay history. They would return in 1987 and finish as State runner-up. During the 1993-1994 season, the team switched to fastpitch and would go on to capture the District, Regionals, and Sectional titles. In 1995, the team won the Regional title and advanced all the way to the State Semifinal game. A few years later, they would capture another District Championship. In 2017, the team advanced to their first State tournament in over 20 years. Coach Tera Gainer was also named All Big Bend Coach of the Year by the Tallahassee Democrat during that season.
