School Counseling

The Maclay School Counseling Department serves as support for our students and parent community.  Whether it's programs in the classroom, Parent Education programs, or one-on-one support, we strive to keep all our students healthy and strong mentally, socially, and physically.

Welcome to the Maclay School Counseling Department! Our purpose is to encourage our students, staff, and parents to engage in activities that promote well-being, a healthy school outlook, and social/emotional growth. If you feel your child could benefit from a guidance conversation, please feel free to contact one of the school counselors listed below.

Building community is a key component of our One School initiative while focusing on the value of each student. Through these One School initiatives, our school counselors work to foster emotional intelligence, self-regulation, and a strong community spirit. Supported by approaches such as the Responsive Classroom model and tailored programs within each division:

  • Lower School: Focuses on Zones of Regulation and fostering community through Friday Lower School Community Meetings on the blacktop.
  • Middle School: Utilizes a House System to create a sense of belonging and teamwork through community events and challenges.
  • Upper School: Engages students through scheduled community time for events, activities, and team-building exercises.
