2025 Athletics Hall of Fame

Maclay School is proud to announce the 10th Annual Maclay Athletics Hall of Fame and Distinguished Alumnus Award Ceremony Luncheon will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. in the Dining Hall and Performance Center. Tickets are $50 and may be purchased at www.maclay.org/HOF.

This year’s Hall of Fame inductees include Stephen Chase (’15, Lacrosse), Sara Dunlap (’00, Soccer), Molly Jones (’02, Multi-Sports), Patrick Swain (’11, Cross Country/Track), and the 1991 Boys Soccer Team. Maclay is also honored to recognize Erinn “Ebs” Burnough (’98) as the 2025 Distinguished Alumnus.

Stephen Chase (’15)
Stephen Chase was a four-year varsity lacrosse standout and team captain, leading Maclay to four straight undefeated district seasons. He was named an All-American and 2015 All-Big Bend Player of the Year and still holds school records for goals, points, and single-game scoring. He went on to play lacrosse at the University of Notre Dame and was part of the 2018 ACC Championship team.

Sara Dunlap (’00)
A six-year varsity soccer player, Sara Dunlap led Maclay to an undefeated season and the 1999 State Championship. She holds school records for most goals and assists in a single season, scored 113 goals and 87 assists in her career, and was twice named Big Bend Player of the Year. She also represented Florida on the Olympic Development Program for five years and became the first Big Bend soccer player to receive a scholarship offer to Florida State University.

Molly Jones (’02)
Molly Jones earned the Multi-Sport Award for her exceptional performance across four sports: Track & Field, Cross Country, Soccer, and Swimming. She captured state titles in the triple jump (2000, 2002) and high jump (2002), contributed to three state championship track teams, and set the school record in the triple jump (38’5”). She was a key member of the 1999 State Champion Cross Country team, earned All-Big Bend honors in Track & Field for four years, and qualified for the state diving championship in 2000. Molly continued her track and field career at Princeton University, ranking among the top ten all-time triple jumpers in school history.

Patrick Swain (’11)
Patrick Swain captured two cross-country state titles (2008, 2009) and a 3200m track title while helping Maclay win the 2010 Florida Track & Field State Championship. A team captain and Eagle Scout, he was known for his dedication and leadership before attending the U.S. Naval Academy, where he graduated with merit and became a Naval Aviator, later serving as a flight instructor for the next generation of Navy pilots.

1991 Boys Soccer Team
After years of heartbreak in the state semifinals, the 1991 team captured Maclay’s second state soccer title in dramatic fashion. Despite losing seven starters from the previous season and battling the flu during the finals, the Marauders upset rival Keswick Christian 1-0 on a game-winning header by junior Tommy Bixler. The squad was anchored by All-State selections George Petrandis and Tommy Chetnick and was coached by Bruce Irvin and Andy Warner

1991 Roster: Brian Snowden, Khary Henry, Burr Williams, Elias Deeb, Kasimu Henry, Matt Preston, Peter Zahner, Jonathan Cowels, Tommy  Bixler, Tommy Chetnik, Ron LaFace, Ty Suber, Drogo Knight, Zandy Barr, Ara Hagopian, Josh Oltjen, Jay  Smith, George Petrandis, Edris Hunt, and Coaches Bruce Irvin and Andy Warner.
