As one of the first sports offered for girls, basketball has been a staple in the Maclay community for decades. The program found early success, winning the State Championship in both 1976 and 1978. A JV team was added during the 1976-1977 season, coached by Mrs. Pat Ashcroft. In the 1990-1991 season, the #1-ranked team finished as the State runner-up. The team would return to the State Championship game in 1993, winning the whole thing after defeating Melbourne Central Catholic. The Champion Marauders would then be featured on the cover of Sports Edition magazine. In more recent memory, the team went on to win the 2008 Holiday Hoops tournament and advanced to Regionals in the 2010-2011 season and the 2011-2012 season. During the 2013-2014 season, the Lady Marauders returned to the State tournament, and in the 2014-2015 season, the team won the District Championship.
