Boys Soccer at Maclay
Boys’ Soccer was the first sport offered at Maclay, with the first game being played in January of 1969. In 1973, the team was already dominant, finishing the year 6-1 and winning the Georgia-Florida Independent League. In 1979, Maclay hosted the Chesterfield School football team, which began a long partnership between the English school and Maclay. The Marauders would go on to visit Chesterfield School in England twice: first in 1980 and next in 1986, where they defeated the Chesterfield football team for the first time. The soccer team would also win the State Championship in 1986 and finished as State runner-up in 1987. In 1989, the team traveled to its seventh-consecutive State Championship tournament. The Chesterfield team would visit Maclay for the last time in 1990, as their school becomes co-ed, and the organizer Mr. Price retires. The Marauders would win the State Championship multiple times in the coming years, including 1991, 1995, 2004, and 2017. During the 2017 Championship run, Maclay hosted a watch party in the Cartee Gym to cheer on the Marauders as they defeated Lakeland Christian. In 2025, Maclay defeated Holy Trinity in DeLand.
