Boys Basketball at Maclay
The boys’ basketball team was one of the first sports offered in school history. The team found early success, going undefeated in 1973 with a record of 17-0. In 1977, the Marauders ranked #1 in the final regular-season poll. The team went on to win the 1979 State Championship, the same season in which star player Bobby Miles reached 1,000 career points. During the 1996-1997 season, the program advanced all the way to the State Final Four, and Head Coach Mike McGrotha was named Coach of the Year for 2A. The 2005 season was another year filled with success, as the Marauders finished as State runner-up after winning the District Championship and the Regional title. The team would go on to again win Districts during the 2006-2007 season and during the 2011-2012 season.
