Move. Perform. Inspire.

Dance at Maclay is for every student, from Pre-K discovering movement for the first time to Upper School dancers performing and competing at an advanced level. Our program covers a wide range of techniques, including ballet, hip-hop, jazz, contemporary, and lyrical, giving every dancer a foundation that is both technically strong and creatively expressive. Students who want to take their training further can join the Marauder Dance Team, a hybrid program with the Athletics Department that meets after school and performs throughout the year.

The Art of Dance

Maclay's dance program offers students a dynamic and disciplined artistic experience, exploring a variety of styles that build technique, creativity, and a deep appreciation for the art of movement.

Lower School

Our youngest Marauders are introduced to the joy of movement through the Mini Marauder Dance Company. Students build coordination, confidence, and a love of performance from the very beginning.

Middle School

Middle School dance students develop foundational technique and performance skills across a range of styles. Advanced students can audition for the Advanced Dance Performance and Competition Team, which competes throughout the year.

Upper School

Upper School dance courses take students from foundational technique through advanced choreography and production. Students at every level have the opportunity to perform and compete, with the Advanced Dance Performance and Competition Team representing Maclay at regional and state competitions.

The Valkyries

The Valkyries are Maclay's varsity dance team. Known for dynamic choreography featuring powerful kicks, floorwork, and high-energy performance, the Valkyries perform at pep rallies, home games, and showcases throughout the year. They are one of the most visible and celebrated groups on the Maclay campus.
