Q: When is the deadline for application?


Maclay School has a rolling admissions which means we will continue to enroll students until a grade level is full. 

Q: How big are the classes?


PreK: 12 students with a teacher + teaching assistant
K-5: 18 students is a full class (K and 1st grade have a teacher + teaching assistant)
MS: 16-18 students
US: 18 students on average per class.  

Q: How many students attend Maclay?


We have 965 students in grades PK-12
Student/Teacher Ratio is 12:1

Q: Do you offer transportation?


We have a morning bus run serving Quincy/Havana, Thomasville/Cairo, and Southwood.

Q: What type of security do you have in place?


Maclay School employs two-armed security officers on campus from 7am-3:30pm. There is one entry location at the Welcome Station for guests who must present a driver’s license upon entering campus.  

Q: What types of meal services are provided? 


Marauder Meals provides food services serving hot lunch, Wich Which sandwiches, Açaí bowls, pizza and more. 

Q: Does Maclay offer any summer programs?


Maclay offers over 40 summer campus from academics, to technology, to art, and day camp.

Q: What kind of after school programs do you have?


Maclay offers a variety of options for after school including Enrichment Classes, Kids Club, Middle School Center, various sports for a wide range of ages, and academic support options.

Q: Does Maclay have a dress code?


Students in PreK - 8th grade wear a school uniform while Upper School students have a dress code and Wednesdays students must follow the 'Dress for Success' dress code.

Q: What is Early Release Wednesday?


Every Wednesday, all students are released at 2pm allowing for faculty/staff professional development. Free after school care is available until 3pm for students in grades PreK-8.

Q: What type of academic support does Maclay have?


Maclay offers a number of Academic Support options including the services of our Center for Learning, Peer tutoring, the Jr. Beta Academic Resource Center (BARC) in Middle School, the Maclay Academic Resource Center (MARC) in Upper School, and teacher office hours during designated times for Middle and Upper School Students.

Q: Does Maclay offer scholarships?


While we do not accept scholarships, we do have a robust tuition assistance program.
