Why Attend Discovery Day?
By eighth grade, you've heard plenty of pitches about what makes a school "the right fit." We'd rather show you. Discovery Day is a chance for you and your rising 9th grader to spend a real morning on our Upper School campus, side by side, before your student stays on to shadow a class and have lunch with current students.
It's More Than a Campus Tour
Discovery Day gives your student a chance to experience a real day at Maclay. They'll sit in classrooms, have lunch with current students, and see what life in Upper School is really like.
Meanwhile, you'll connect with the teachers and advisors who will support your student and learn more about:
- Academic Support: How the Center for Academic Excellence helps students thrive.
- Academic Opportunities: AP Capstone, independent research, and opportunities to go further.
- College Readiness: How SAT prep is built into the Upper School experience.

Maclay means unlimited possibilities. It means an encouraging environment that has shown our boys that with hard work and a supportive community behind them, they can do anything they put their minds to. It means smiling faces throughout the campus who know the students by name. Whether academics, music, athletics, clubs, student council, foreign languages, or anything else they want to explore, they can pursue it at Maclay with a village of Marauders cheering them on every step of the way, from Pre-K to high school graduation.-Sophie Smith, Current Parent
