ACCESS is a support program for students in grades 6–12 who benefit from Academic Coaching for Confidence, Engagement, and Strategic Support. In place of an elective, world language, or study hall, students meet with a CAE learning specialist for individualized academic coaching, strategic tutoring and reteaching, and support in developing executive functioning, organization, study, and self-advocacy skills. Support is tailored to each student's unique strengths and areas of growth, helping them build the strategies and confidence needed for long-term academic success. Referral and availability are required.

Personalized tools and in-class supports that help students stay focused, manage behavior, and build self-regulation skills for learning.

Common diagnoses supported at Maclay include ADHD, dyslexia, dysgraphia, anxiety, and language processing challenges.

An enrichment program for students in grades K–8 with high interest or ability in STEM. In grades K–3, students work with the gifted education teacher during the school day in place of an elective or PE (referral required). In grades 4–8, students participate during FLEX or a middle school elective period to prepare for math competitions. Participation is based on student interest and ability.

An early literacy and word reading screener used in PreK–Grade 1 to assess foundational reading skills and guide instruction. 

A customized plan that outlines classroom accommodations for a student based on a diagnosed learning or behavioral need (similar to a 504). 

Official accommodations (like extended time) for standardized tests such as the SAT, ACT, or AP exams, based on documentation and an external application process.

An educator who works closely with students who learn differently, providing personalized strategies and support to help them succeed.

A schoolwide system that uses teamwork and data to identify student needs and provide increasing levels of academic and behavioral support.

A schoolwide system supports fine motor, visual motor, sensory, and self-regulation challenges that impact learning, provided on campus through contracted services with trusted community partners.

A 1st–5th grade program providing individualized, Orton Gillingham–based reading instruction for students who need more explicit or tailored support due to a diagnosed learning difference or other reading challenge that occurs in lieu of their classroom ELA instruction.

A comprehensive evaluation conducted by a licensed psychologist to understand a student’s learning strengths, challenges, and support needs.
