Upper School Mathematics Teacher
The Upper School Mathematics Teacher is a charismatic adult who is committed to a child centered and differentiated approach to student learning and achievement. This mentor-teacher is creative, hardworking, and flexible enough to move seamlessly between teaching the different disciplines in Mathematics, ranging from Algebra to Calculus. This mentor-teacher will be a part of a department that collaborates to prepare students for subsequent classes, for college and beyond.
Qualifications of the Ideal Candidate Include:
A demonstrated growth-minded approach and commitment to continuous professional development
Knowledge of and experience using College Board’s AP Curriculum Framework
Knowledge of and experience with the Understanding by Design framework
Expertise in using differentiated instruction to reach a range of learners
Knowledge of and experience with standards-referenced curriculum and assessment
Strong interpersonal communication skills and experience establishing robust partnerships with students, colleagues, and parents
Strong collaboration skills
Bachelor's Degree in Math Education or its equivalent, Master’s Degree preferred.

Learning Specialist Grades 6-9
Learning Specialist, Grades 6-9
Maclay School is seeking a learning specialist for grades 6-9. The learning specialist is a member of the Center for Academic Excellence and reports to the Director of the Center for Academic Excellence. The learning specialist collaborates with middle and upper school faculty and administration by providing strategy-based 1:1 and small-group academic support to students and serving as a resource for faculty. An ideal candidate is student-centered, has an appreciation for middle school students, a growth mindset, and a toolbox of intervention and learning strategies.
Job Responsibilities:
● Prepares and delivers 1:1 or small group instruction focused on reading, writing, math intervention and building executive functioning skills
● Collaborates with classroom teachers and the Academic Deans to support students in and outside of the classroom and serve as a resource on learning strategies
● Monitors student progress and communicates that progress to teachers and parents
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in special education, reading, secondary education or a related field. Master’s degree preferred
● At least three years of experience as a learning specialist or classroom teacher
● A facility of teaching strategies that address executive functioning and study skills
● Ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, administration, and parents
● Strong organizational and relationship-building skills
● Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing

Substitute Teachers
Substitute Teachers
Maclay School is looking for energetic and motivated substitute teachers to work with students at all levels, from elementary to high school. The best candidates are flexible and have an interest in working with children (age 5 through 12th grade) within the educational setting. Official experience and/or a state teaching license is good, but we welcome those with informal experience too. This position is "as needed" and there is no guarantee of hours/days. Many substitute assignments are arranged by phone call the day/night before or morning of the assignment.
Qualifications
- High School diploma required. Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Must be punctual and dependable
- Must be able to execute the teacher’s lesson plans and maintain the classroom in a professional manner.
- The ability to work positively and professionally with students, parents and faculty
- A high degree of professionalism, collegiality, and personal conduct both in and outside of school
- Ability and judgment to communicate thoroughly, accurately and concisely with all constituents in a school environment, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to successfully pass a Federal and FDLE background check

Instructional Coach, Grades 6-12
Instructional Coach, Grades 6-12
Maclay School seeks a secondary instructional coach to enhance teaching, learning, and assessment practices to improve student achievement. The instructional coach is a member of the Center for Academic Excellence, reports to the Director of the Center for Academic Excellence, and works collaboratively with teachers and administration in middle and upper school to bring evidence-based practices to classrooms. This is achieved through one-on-one and small group teacher support, coaching, and personalized development. The instructional coach is knowledgeable pedagogically, an excellent teacher practitioner, and excited about crafting professional development that is meaningfully tied to teacher needs and student outcomes.
Job Responsibilities:
● Grow and support an instructional coaching model that matches the school’s vision for professional development
● Work collaboratively with the Center for Academic Excellence and the instructional coaching team to design and lead professional development for faculty and staff
● Work with individual teachers and groups of teachers to develop and enhance instructional practices
● Support teachers and administrators in using data to inform instruction
● Provide recommendations and strategies to teachers on meeting the needs of diverse learners in the classroom and supporting a continuity of learning that prepares college-ready students
● Assist teachers with resources, materials, tools, and information to support classroom instruction and planningaterials, tools, and information to support classroom instruction and planning
Qualifications:
● Master’s Degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, or a related field
● At least five years of experience as a classroom teacher. Ten years preferred.
● A firm understanding of pedagogical best practices in the secondary classroom

● Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing
