Upper School Summer Work
Each year, we welcome back a school full of students returning from a well-deserved summer break. One of the challenges we face as educators is getting the students back up to the pace of a Maclay education and re-introducing many concepts untouched over the ten weeks of summer break. This review causes inefficiencies in our model and limits how far we are able to take all of our students.
Academic skills, much like any other muscle, will atrophy without use, and as we seek to provide exceptional value in each student's educational journey. This work will serve as a complement to our robust summer reading program, not as a replacement for the enrichment or preparation for life-long learning the reading program provides.
