Maclay School has a student body of about 1000 students. The school strives for a diverse community, and the student body is comprised of 21 percent people of different backgrounds, including ten exchange students and international students. Though a young school, Maclay has graduated more than 40 alumni children. During the last five years, Maclay has graduated over 200 Charter Members who have attended every grade, constituting more than a third of each class. Maclay School continues to build a strong sense of community by providing a place where generations value and take pride in educational excellence.
The 98 teachers at Maclay School are intended to have the time, guidance, security, and freedom to immerse themselves in the instruction of their students. Creativity, dedication, and superior credentials foster learning and inquiry both within and outside the classroom and ensure that students are well-prepared for college life and beyond. Fifty-five percent of the faculty hold advanced degrees, and 18 are Maclay alumni. Small class sizes afford opportunities for individual instruction, varied teaching methodologies, and a focus on cooperative learning. Maclay teachers are not only experts in their field of study, but they are also regularly engaged in the students’ activities as club sponsors, coaches, and mentors.
