In 2002, Nick Meros won the boy’s individual title to become Maclay’s first Individual State Tennis Champion. The team would reach the State finals for the next three seasons, from 2003-2005. During the 2005 season, the team won both the District and Regional titles on their way to State. During the 2008 and 2009 seasons, the team would win City’s, Districts, and Regionals and finish fifth at State both years. In 2011, the team won its 11th Regional title with the help of duo Brett Landau and Chris Perrigan, who won doubles at State. The girls’ tennis program began in 1974. In 1995, the Lady Marauders won Districts after posting a 9-3 record. The following season, the #1 Varsity doubles team of Shivonne Edwards and Jenna Bridges won Districts and advanced all the way to the State Finals. The team would win another District title in 1999, defeating NFC by 15 points. During the 2006-2007 season, the team went on to finish tied for 4th at State after winning both the District and Regional titles. In 2013, the team would again win the City, District, and Regional championships on their way to State, where they finish tied for sixth. Two years later, the team would finish third at State, one of their highest placements in recent memory. In 2016, they would capture the District and Regional titles to advance all the way to State, and in 2017 the team made it to State for the third year in a row.
